Travel information
The capacity on the flights to Ilulissat, Greenland, is limited so unfortunately there will be restrictions on the number of attendees. The majority of the places will be sold on a first come - first serve basis; if necessary, we will create a waiting list. We have reserved 20 places for presenters of accepted (regular) papers; they will have priority to these places between the 10th June and the 24th June 2013. After that date the remaining places will be sold on a first come - first serve basis; however, notice that registration and booking close on 24th July 2013.
Registration and booking can only be made through Greenland Travel and we strongly encourage people to make their arrangements early.
The registration and booking package offered by Greenland Travel costs DKK 13.950 per person for a single room and DKK 12.950 per person for a double room. This price covers:
- Return flight between Copenhagen, Kangerlussuaq and Ilulissat with Air Greenland
- Three nights at Arctic Hotel in Ilulissat (18-21 October 2013)
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner for the three days (except drinks and beverages)
- Registration for the conference
The price does not cover access to the Internet; it can be bought but is quite expensive.
The flight departs from Copenhagen at 9.00 on 18th October 2013 and returns to Copenhagen at 20.00 on 21st October 2013.
Note that although Greenland is part of Denmark it is not part of the European Union or the Schengen area; this means that you might need a special visa in order to travel to Greenland.
Ilulissat is situated 200 km north of the polar circle meaning that in mid October the day length is around 8.5 hours. The average temperature is between -7°C and -2°C; please consult this webpage for more details.
